The 2011 holiday ads for Target don’t disappoint. If the antics of “the Christmas Champ” didn’t catch your attention last year (or in 2009), they are sure to make an impact this year as Wieden + Kennedy’s 12 quirky spots hit the airwaves.

With outrageous scenarios (morning visitor, elf grease, reindeer) and some ad libbing by actress, Maria Bamford, we get to witness a woman on the holiday edge. A crazed fan of holiday shopping – and Target’s 2-Day Sale – this red-velvet bedecked character helps Black Friday devotees feel justified in their quest, and quite possibly, a whole lot more sane than the Christmas Champ. Connecting with your audience through humor is the best connection of the season.
