We are a team of
creative thinkers and thinking creatives all driven by one thing: |
When Christine Tieri (right) and Jean Giguere (left), friends since the second grade, found themselves working just two blocks from each other in the Big Apple after college — they knew good things were bound to happen. The two spent the next several years working at different agencies throughout the city’s bustling advertising industry. After 56 years (okay, so they like to think of their years in New York as dog years), they set up shop back in their home state of Massachusetts. Their goal was to create an environment where clients would receive big-agency strategic thinking and cutting-edge creativity with small-agency personalized service. With Jean helming the account team and Christine the creative department, the two carefully carved out their vision of the perfect agency. And thus, smith&jones was born. |

A graduate of Providence College and the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, Jean began her career at a top Manhattan promotion agency, the American Consulting Corporation. As a project manager, she coordinated field marketing events for clients such as Mattel Toys and Perrier. She was responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of advertising, point-of-sale materials, promotions, sales materials and packaging for several Seagram brands such as Seagram's Coolers, Seagram's Mixers, Seagram's Spritzer, and Seagram's Ginger Ale. In this role, Jean developed marketing plans, helped develop and position new products and line extensions, and re-launched products. In 1995, Jean moved back to her home state of Massachusetts to start smith&jones with lifelong friend Christine Tieri. Jean is a past President of the AdClub of Greater Worcester.
